Hurdles on making an indie web show pilot
For those who aren't aware, I've been working on an indie pilot since 2021, and finally, I'm in the pre-production phase! I've been able to hire some animators and work on a pitch deck for the production. I want to explain, as an AuDHD Agender individual the hurdles that arise from working on the pilot and the Kickstarter Prelaunch Page that you can follow here!

1.) Most of pitching and working on a pilot isn't animation, but business
- I've been animating since I was 9 years old (almost 18 years) and something I thought going into this was that I would be animating a good portion of the work. While that is true, it's not the biggest focus. Budgeting, marketing and world building are. It's a hard journey to do this; however, when you're so passionate on achieving a goal, you'd do what it takes!
2.) My mental batteries drain much quicker working on this project
- Autism and ADHD are hindering my experience being able to communicate my vision and goals; however, I have friends and producers in the inside that help become my voice and projection. When I have to speak on my own, I request the ability to write down my thoughts prior on either notecards or on a sheet of paper so I keep myself organized
3.) Money money money, time...then more money
- To be completely transparent, I work in a distribution center making $22 an hour. It's not sufficient to work on a pilot and sustain my living conditions. To offset the stress and costs, I have to budget heavily and research grants for productions. No luck, yet, but I'm very confident!
All in all, this experience really humbles me and helps me focus on the dream goal: I have an idea I've been working on for five years. I'm going to do whatever it takes to achieve my dreams. Hopefully, you'll be there for the ride! (:
